Venmo hired BUCK to personalize this experience by introducing “gift wraps”, giving users the ability to package up a payment as a virtual gift complete with a variety of animated opening experiences for the recipient.

Each :05 second animation has a 1MB file limit, which presented some challenges as we developed our storytelling style. I had the chance to explore and develop my knowledge of animation for web and apps, becoming a pro inside plugins like Bodymoving to create Lottie files. 
 

The new feature was well received with one million gift wraps shared within the first 4 months, leading to our continued production of over 50 custom themes and counting. Here's a few I made!
